Student Web Pages

You are viewing a default homepage. The student you are trying to find has not modified their site yet.

Students:
What is the “web” folder in my student share, or “Z Drive”?

Beginning August 28th, ITC will no longer create new TREX2 accounts for students.  Instead, we auto-populate the “web” folder in each student’s personal file space on the ITC Windows server called Opal. (In ITC labs, the student’s Opal file space is mapped to the “Z Drive.”)  Students will put all of their Web pages and documents here, rather than on TREX2.  Students can either drag and drop Web files into this space, or FTP to the directory. This page, index.html, is the default homepage for this account.

Each student will be allocated 25MB of Opal file space, which represents a significant upgrade in available storage. The new naming convention for student Web sites will be http://studentweb.montana.edu/username where username is the user ID with which the student logs into the ITC lab computers.

TREX2 will continue to be available until January 2007 for students who already have accounts on that system, although we will encourage all students to move their files to Opal as soon as they can.

Please contact the Help Desk at 994-1777 or helpdesk@montana.edu if you have any questions about this exciting change.
